A Break in December
When I awoke this morning, a perfect image came into my mind: the paperwhites in our sun room, now in bloom, against the backdrop of a fresh blanket of snow. I had to take a photograph.
After we decided not to tempt our luck and trudge out to the farmers’ market in Callicoon after the snow storm, it felt so wonderful having a lie-in this morning. Call me a wuss or simply lazy, but sometimes, it’s the simple pleasures, like having a leisurely cup of tea, that mean a lot more than having to worry about how we’re going to survive the winter months. Whatever happens, we’ll get by. And that cup of tea was well worth it!
